Sync is a moray eel. His mer half starts higher on him than most, due to the need to change the way his body is built, as eels move with a more circular motion than the up and down of most fish-based mers, with his tail being slightly more than twice the length of his human torso. His whole body is a little slimey to the touch, due to the mucus it secretes. This lets him get into smaller spaces that most have trouble moving through, though it also tends to mean he's usually covered in a light coating of sand. His hands are completely webbed to the finger tips. Sync also possesses the moray eel's secondary set of jaws, due to his throat not working as well as most. They sit against his throat, the bones able to be felt by touching his neck, and extend out into his mouth when he needs them to grab and pull something in. Anything they grab, he can't let go of without something to help lever them open, so he does need to be mindful of what he bites.
Senses wise, Sync's sense of smell is incredible, and he will describe most things by how they smell; this is mostly because his eyesight is rather shoddy - if it's not close enough for him to reach out and touch it, it's blurry.
Magic wise, his abilities are rather strong, focusing more on the destructive side of things. His favoured spells usually have something to do with wind or lightning, an odd preference underwater but it's how he is. Sync has developed the ability to 'smell' magic, able to identify spells by scent unless they're deliberately hiding what they are or they're totally new to him.
His history isn't developed entirely to leave it free for castmates to work with. Sync was always prone to wandering, which was enough for him to get captured by a human fishing boat one day. Rather than let him go, they sold him to the highest bidder, leaving him to be tortured relentlessly and kept in a small aquarium he could barely move in. Eventually he was freed, but by that time he had lost near to all memory of his life before being imprisoned. At one point after this, he learned to use his magic better from a mentor, and withdrew to being a loner who stuck to the reef and hated being around others.
An adult in this AU, Sync has spent most of his life with his brothers - younger brothers (and his twins as a set of triplets) Florian and Ion, and older brother Orion. Originally growing up in an older church after their parents died, Sync had always felt excluded and unwanted, even though he loved his brothers dearly and they him. It came to a head in high school, when he attempted suicide, leaving him with a massive scar across his throat that is hidden whenever possible. Only two people know of its existence.
After spending his post-school life working his ass off to support his family, everything changed when Ion, always prone to sickness, ended up passing away. Sync's own depression threatened to spiral him into suicide again, if it were for finding one person who understood him entirely too well: Luke fon Fabre. Luke had his own problems that let him understand Sync's better than anyone ever had before, and out of nowhere it felt like, they ended up together on the same day that Ion passed. Sync still feels horribly guilty about that, but at the same time, he's thankful as anything to have someone like Luke with him.
There's been a lot of ups and downs in their relationship, but after a year or so, Luke pulled together the courage to ask Sync to spend the rest of his life with him. Sync could only say yes, having grown to love Luke more than anything. More ups and downs have followed, and they discovered from one of the worst downs that Sync has schizophrenia, something he also hides to the best of his ability. But with a little bit of help from Luke, he's getting it treated, and currently is actually enjoying his life, looking forward to the future he'll get to spend with the most important person in the world to him.

Sync's version of vampire is not contagious due to his unique situation of being a replica at the same time, causing his own blood to dissolve when not in contact with him, making him unable to share it. As a vampire, his already high natural speed and strength are boosted to insane levels. He's not stronger defensive wise, but he makes up for that with a high regeneration ability. Only powers deliberately made to hurt a vampire will damage him and make him unable to regenerate off the wounds. Sunlight doesn't burn him, but he prefers nighttime.
His bite is the kind that feels entirely too good to whoever he bites, and will only hurt if he wills it to. He feeds like any vampire does, and needs to every few days or risk losing control of himself to bloodlust. It's generally a good idea for him to feed, and provided he's not fighting it for some reason, it also tends to make him feel as good as it feels for whoever he's biting. Sync also has the ability to feed off and retain the blood of other replicas, making him one of the few that can actually sustain himself on them, as to any other the blood will simply dissolve once out of contact with its owner.
Sync's eyes will always glow faintly, at their dimmest only noticeable in very low light. The glow will strengthen when he wills it to, or if he's starting to lose control from lack of feeding. As the glow strengthens, so does the hypnotic effect that it imparts on those that see it. It's at its strongest when the glow is brightest and Sync is directly looking at a person. It's not complete mind control, but it can be very hard to resist. They also grant him total night vision, lack of light never being a problem for him.

He tends to use this however he pleases, and if anyone becomes angered with him enough to try and attack him, he'll simply disappear and become air entirely. Only elemental binding spells can hold him, and he will fight those with all the strength of a tempest.
When appearing human, he's almost identical to his late canon self. Black boots, pants, and gloves, with the white coat. It's nearly impossible to tell he's not human at this point, unless someone starts annoying him. As he starts to get closer to being angry, parts of his coat begin to rise and stand on end, revealling their true nature.
When angered out of that form or simply deciding to show his true form, the front of his coat pulls away from him to unfold into one set of feathered wings, the tail of the coat becoming a secondary set. While he can use these to fly, he doesn't need them, his power over wind granting him the ability to levitate naturally. His gloves disappear, revealling claw-like hands that almost look like bird talons crossed with human hands. His boots also disappear to reveal his feet are similar, though heavily padded in a more draconic fashion. The only part of his clothing that is actually real are his pants; Sync usually doesn't bother with a shirt, revealling the markings on his chest and back which are much more elaborate than usual.

He has an accidental sort-of-bond with Yveltal. The destruction bird was living in the volcano he was thrown into as a small, and was very confused by his apparent refusal to show fear of it. It picked him up and dropped him off in a safer part that let Van easily find him. Now and then he sees it, but his refusal to go near the volcano means their meetings are rare.
His first Pokemon was an Electrike that had been abandoned by its trainer, the human having caught its evolved form and discarded the weaker Electrike. Sync sympathised with its situation, and they spent some time together, out in the middle of nowhere where no one would bother them. After awhile, it decided to stay with him, and eventually evolved into a strong Manectric.
The Zubat he obtained had been treated similarly, and they'd had a great deal of satisfaction defeating its original trainer when it evolved all the way into a Crobat, utterly defeating the Golbat it had been replaced with. The small Tynamo had been rejected when its trainer learned it couldn't learn any other attacks than its starting four, and couldn't learn TM moves. It showed its worth when it evolved into a powerhouse of an Eelektross.
Aerodactyl was an odd one. Sync found it struggling to survive in the wild, and helped it out a little, not that it wanted it. But when it saw how well he took care of himself without having to rely on his Pokemon, it grew impressed with him, and stayed by him. Bagon was a stubborn loner, and refused contact with anyone, human or Pokemon, trying to learn to fly. Rather than shoot it down, Sync helped it train up its strength and stamina, pointing out that it'd need both to fly. Eventually it evolved into a Salamance, and became his strongest Pokemon as it was grateful for his willingness to stick by it, even in the face of an impossible desire.
There are a few other Pokemon that are naturally drawn to him, mostly various ghost types. There is a small group of Shuppet and Banette that visit him often, and it's not unusual for there to be a Mimikyu and a Gastly or two around him. None of these Pokemon are actually his, but a lot of people tend to assume they belong to him, and he doesn't ever deny it because he knows the feeling of being rejected.
Sync spends a lot of time out in the middle of nowhere on his own, with only his Pokemon for company. Storms especially drew him out, spending a lot of time under the cover of the trees, watching the lightning dance. One day, his path brought him in contact with another Legendary Pokemon - the lightning dog, Raikou. Initially the two kept away from each other, Sync finding somewhere dry to watch the storm while Raikou lay in the open, watching both the storm and him. He'd fallen asleep with Manectric after awhile, and when he'd woken, both it and Raikou were curled up in the make-shift shelter with him. Sync and Raikou watched each other for a moment before Sync shrugged and curled up again. From then on, whenever it stormed, they would end up meeting and finding a sheltered place to watch it. Sync never asked it to stay, and it never rejected him. Some of his fondest memories are when the great beast offered its back to him and they went running together through the storm, lightning incarnate.
